Biography
Early Life
Ruskin Bond was born on 19 May 1934 in Kasauli, Punjab Province, British India. His parents were Aubrey Alexander Bond and Edith Dorothy Bond.
He spent parts of his childhood in Jamnagar, Dehradun, New Delhi, and Shimla. His experiences growing up in northern India later became an important source of inspiration for his writing.
Bond developed an interest in literature at an early age and was particularly influenced by writers such as Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, and Rudyard Kipling.
Literary Career
