Privacy Policy

There are no reader accounts on this site. You do not sign in, and nothing you read is tied to a name or an email address. The data that does exist is either anonymous usage measurement or the ordinary request logging every web server performs.

• A theme preference — whether you chose light or dark, kept in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
• A per-biography view count — opening a biography increments a counter on that page. It records that a page was viewed, not who viewed it.
• Server logs — our web server records the requested address, the time, the browser user-agent and the originating IP address, as web servers do. These are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.

Searches you type are sent to our own search endpoint to return results. They are not attached to a visitor profile.

Some third parties receive data directly from your browser, under their own privacy policies rather than ours:

• Cloudflare delivers and protects the site, so requests pass through its network.
• Google Analytics, where enabled, measures aggregate traffic — pages viewed, rough location, device type — using cookies or similar identifiers.
• Google AdSense, where enabled, serves the advertising on this site. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and review the choices offered by other vendors at aboutads.info.

• We do not sell or rent visitor data.
• We do not ask readers to register, and we run no reader mailing list.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your browser controls cookies and local storage, and clearing them removes the theme preference and any advertising or analytics identifiers set on your device. Most browsers also offer a “do not track” setting and private browsing.
