Tazin Ahmed

Tazin Ahmed was born on 30 July 1975 in Noakhali, Bangladesh. She grew up in a culturally active environment and later studied mass communication and journalism at the University of Dhaka. She began her professional life in journalism, joining the newspaper Bhorer Kagoj in 1994 and later working at Prothom Alo, where she became a staff reporter. She also wrote as a columnist and worked in public relations.

Tazin entered television presentation in 1991 through the Bangladesh Television program Chetna. Her acting career began in 1996 with the television drama Shesh Dekha Shesh Noy, directed by Sheikh Niamat Ali. She subsequently appeared in numerous television dramas and telefilms and became known for her natural acting style and versatile performances.

Theatre was another important part of her career. She worked with theatre groups including Natyojon and Aranyak Natyadal. Her performances in productions such as Tebhagar Pala and Mayur Singhasan received recognition from audiences and fellow theatre practitioners. She also wrote around a dozen plays and directed several productions.

Tazin also worked in television management and presentation. In 2003, she joined NTV as a programme executive, and later hosted programs including 71 er Shokaal on Ekattor TV. Her television career included both acting and presenting, allowing her to work across several areas of Bangladesh's media industry.

For her acting, Tazin received the 2003 BACHSAS Award for Best Actress in the drama category. Her career also included appearances in productions such as Noashal, Mayur Singhasan, Doll's House, and other television and theatre works.

Tazin Ahmed died on 22 May 2018 in Dhaka after suffering a heart attack. She was 42 years old according to sources using her 1975 birth date. Her career left a record spanning television, theatre, journalism, writing, directing, and presentation.
